On Friday as part of Manx Lit Fest Mrs Creasey’s class were given a unique opportunity to meet an Author from London. Dr Christopher Riley came to speak to the children and share his wide range of knowledge on Space. The children were amazed to discover that he was not only an author but a filmmaker specialising in engineering, history and of course science! We discovered he had directed and produced over thirty documentary films for BBC, Film4, Netflix, National Geographic and that some of this most recent work had appeared on Disney+!! The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about space travel and got to witness and touch the materials used for spacesuits and the vacuumed space food. Mrs Creasey was really impressed with the wide variety of questions from the children which Dr Riley answered so well. The children learnt lots of information and I think this will stick with them for a good while!
