Message from The Henry Bloom Noble Library:
I really enjoyed visiting Kewaigue School to tell the children all about this year’s Summer Reading Challenge at The Henry Bloom Noble Library, 8 Duke Street, Douglas. ‘Wild World Heroes’ is all about the environment, nature and our role in helping to save the planet. The aim of the challenge is to read six books over the summer holidays by visiting the library three times and borrowing two books per visit. The children will receive incentives along the way and when they complete the challenge they will receive a certificate and medal. We also have a competition and quiz to enter and children who write good book reviews will be in with a chance of winning book tokens. We also have theme-related workshops taking place on a Wednesday morning during the holidays which will be led by several Manx charities including The Manx Wildlife Trust, Beach Buddies and The Whale and Dolphin Society.
The launch date for the challenge is Saturday 10th July when the library will be open from 9.00am - 4.00pm. We only have 200 Wild World Heroes bags to give out so to avoid disappointment come along to HBN Library on, or soon after 10th July, to sign up and avoid disappointment!
